Machine Inc. is a developer of personalization and security technologies for firearms, whose clients include U.S. law enforcement agencies. One such technology is the secure gun holster, which holds a firearm firmly in place and ensures that only authorized personnel can retrieve it.
The company needed seven sets of secure gun holster cases to be produced. Each of them had dimensions of 34 x 101 x 149.01 mm. The client had previously tried to have the cases printed using several 3D printing methods. However, the production cost was high and the finished product’s quality failed to meet the necessary technical requirements.
Machine Inc. turned to Infomir for help, giving us a ready 3D model of a secure gun holster. We printed the items using the Hewlett Packard Jet Fusion 5210 industrial 3D printing line. This equipment uses MJF technology and HP PA 12 polyamide to print products with an 80‑micron layer thickness at 1,200 DPI.
A set of seven secure gun holster cases was printed within six working days. The finished products were durable and had highly detailed surfaces. The printing material allows for the product to be used under various weather conditions: polyamide retains its technical properties when exposed to moisture and UV light. Our client received high-quality accessories from Infomir 3D Printing, saving time and money.
